National IT Conference - 2024
The 42nd National Information Technology Conference (NITC 2024), organized by CSSL, was a landmark event themed "Catalyzing the Progressive Future Towards Society 5.0." It brought together experts from technology, policy, and academia to explore how digital innovation can drive human centered, inclusive, and sustainable development.
CSSL President Dr. Ajantha Atukorale proposed key initiatives, including the formation of a Chartered ICT Professional Entity and recognizing ICT as a standalone industry to strengthen Sri Lanka's digital future. The government's establishment of the Ministry of Digital Economy was also highlighted as a major step forward.
The conference featured vital discussions on AI ethics, cybersecurity, smart cities, and digital entrepreneurship, reaffirming Sri Lanka's potential to lead in the regional digital space.
